About Dr. Amit Kumar Chaurasia
Dr. Amit Kumar Chaurasia is a distinguished cardiologist, having graduated from three prestigious institutes in India: JIPMER (Pondicherry), AIIMS (New Delhi), and SCTIMST (Trivandrum), where he completed his MD in Internal Medicine and DM in Cardiology, respectively. He further honed his skills with a Fellowship in Complex Coronary and Structural Heart Disease from GOKI, Budapest (Hungary), where he dedicated three years to his training.
With extensive experience in Adult, Pediatric, and Peripheral interventions, Dr. Chaurasia is renowned both nationally and internationally for his expertise in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR). As one of the pioneering proctors for TAVI in India, he has performed over 1000 TAVI/TAVR procedures, including Transcatheter Pulmonary Valve Replacement (TPVR) in the smallest conduit in India. Additionally, he specializes in Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacements (TMVR), Balloon Mitral Valvotomy (BMV), MitraClip procedures, and has conducted over 50 left atrial appendage closures.
Dr. Chaurasia’s proficiency extends to complex coronary interventions such as Left Main Intervention, Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO), and other intricate procedures. He has conducted numerous workshops nationally and internationally, training fellow doctors in these advanced techniques. With a repertoire of over 10,000 cardiac procedures, he also performs ASD, VSD, PDA, and pulmonary AV fistula device closures. His expertise further encompasses carotid and aortoiliac interventions, including treatments for aortic aneurysm and dissections (TEVAR and EVAR), as well as advanced catheter-based hypertension treatments like Renal Artery Denervation.
