About Dr. Ganesh Kumar Mani
Dr. Ganesh K Mani, the Chairman of Cardio-Thoracic & Vascular Surgery at Max Smart Super Specialty Hospital, is renowned as one of the pioneers of Cardiac Surgery in India. With over 20,000 cardiac surgeries to his credit, he has achieved nearly zero mortality in elective heart surgeries. Dr. Mani introduced “Beating Heart Coronary Artery Bypass” in Delhi in 2000 and has performed over 8,000 Off-pump CABGs since then.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Mani has held key positions at prominent institutions such as Railway Hospital Perambur TN, Batra Hospital, Apollo Hospitals, and Delhi Heart & Lung Institute. He has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the ‘National Citizens Award’ in 1992, the ‘National Excellence Award’ in 1996, and the esteemed ‘Padma Shri Award’ in 2013.
Dr. Mani has extensive experience in valve surgeries and congenital heart surgeries. He remains dedicated to providing free heart surgeries to underprivileged children through initiatives such as the Rotary Foundation’s ‘Gift of Life’ scheme, with support from Max India Foundation and Health Education and Research Trust.
